Mei-Mei and her 4 year old daughter Pair recently came to Thailand from Myanmar. They are members of the Pa-O tribal group.

Working in the fields and taking care of her daughter was almost impossible. Because Pair was still learning to speak Thai, schools would not take her. Pair was referred to us as a preschool option. Even though the teachers at the House of Blessing do not speak the Pa-O language, they frequently communicate with children who speak varying levels of Thai. Pair started attending the next day and Mei-Mei was able to focus on her work.
Pair loves going to school and having friends to play with. She is a fast learner and in a full Thai-immersion environment she is learning the language quickly. The teachers are confident she will be prepared to get into the 1st grade when she graduates. Additionally, with the scholarship program she will be able to stay in school.
